RYA Coastal Skipper Practical
The Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster practical course provides an advanced level of theoretical and practical knowledge for those wishing to undertake coastal passages by day and night.
The main theory content of the course is the same as for Day Skipper and the Day Skipper Shorebased course and without this background knowledge students will find it difficult to undertake the course.
Some provision is made for revision of the basic navigational skills and theory taught in Day Skipper.
The course runs over 5 days applying theoretical knowledge on the sea to undertake passages and learn practical sailing skills.
'ESTE' our Jeanneau Sunlight sailing boat is the base from which the training is conducted. She comfortably sleeps 4 candidates and is a superb training base from which to operate.
What our clients said:
'I just wanted to write quickly to say how much I enjoyed the Coastal Skipper course this week.
I was really impressed with everything about the course, especially the preparation on the boat, the provisions onboard and specifically Rob Stanier as instructor.
Rob was excellent and I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks to him.
He was very approachable, and was able to teach a wide variety of skills at the right level in a fun and friendly environment, whilst dealing with difficult weather conditions.
Many thanks once again and I will be sure to recommend the course and centre to anyone who is looking to further their experience on the water.
All the best
