RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster
A six week (evening) or 5 day course providing theoretical seamanship.
The RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster shorebased course is intended to provide the candidate with a knowledge of the advanced theory of navigation and meteorology. Students receive a course pack which includes work book, charts and instruction manual.
The course is usually conducted over a 6 week period during the winter with students attending on two evenings per week or as an intensive five day course. It is however possible to undertake this training as a correspondence course, supported by our instructors using email and telephone.
The assumed level of knowledge before starting the course is the Day Skipper shorebased course.
Successful candidates will be issued with the RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster shorebased certificate.
The theory content of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster course is a prerequisite and fundamental basis for entry to the Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore practical courses.
